Will there be a truce in the HD DVD vs. Blu-ray format war? Who knows but one savvy manufacturer may have the answer. LG Electronics announced that it will launch the world’s first dual-format high definition DVD player. The new player will have the ability to play both HD DVD and Blu-ray. The new player is scheduled to start shipping early 2007. More details like pricing will be announced at CES. This is really good news for the smart folks that decided to sit on the fence until the format wars were decided.
