New AW800TT is the Flagship of the Proficient Twin Tweeter Product Line
RIVERSIDE, CA: January 3, 2007 – Building on the success of their Twin Tweeter category, Proficient rounds out their Dual Voice Coil/Twin Tweeter lineup with the release of the AW800TT. With an 8” Dual Voice Coil Woofer, two 1¼” Pivoting Aluminum Dome Tweeters and 150 Watt Power Handling capacity, the AW800TT delivers even more of the enhanced dispersion, wide coverage high-frequencies and deep bass for which Proficient TT’s have become known.
The AW800TT is available now and shipping, with an MSRP of $375 each. Just one AW800TT will provide even coverage over a large area, while placement of additional units will further broaden the broadcast area. MSRP for the AW600TT is $300, with the AW500TT listed at $225. All three models ship with zinc and powder coated aluminum U-Brackets and are available in either white or black.
About the AW Series and Dual Voice Coil/Twin Tweeter Design
Proficient AW Series TT speakers provide a high-performance, durable “All Weather” solution for outdoor and large indoor spaces where there’s no fixed listening area and no discernable “sweet spot” because the listener is constantly changing position. High frequency dispersion is enhanced using twin pivoting tweeters mounted in “Slant-Back” wave planes, allowing stereo high frequency information to carry over much longer distances. The dual voice coil woofer configuration combines the left- and right-channel midrange and low-frequency information for exceptional smoothness and depth—even at low listening levels.
“With the Twin Tweeter design, we achieve “constant directivity,” according to Keith Marshall of Proficient Audio. “The sound is so evenly dispersed that no one point in the listening area receives more or less of the left and right channel information than any other point.“
For custom installers, Constant Directivity also addresses the problem of speaker placement for optimum coverage. Pivoting tweeters give the installer an extra edge, enabling the fine-tuning of difficult placements. Ordinary stereo speakers are inadequate in open areas because you lose critical information as you move farther away from the immediate sound field. “No other outdoor speaker can touch the AW Series TT speakers for clarity, bass response and evenness of projection,” states Marshall.
